Ruppertsberg Achtmorgen Chardonnay Grosse Lage - Weingut Andres - Organic
Out of stock
A precise, tension-filled Pfalz Chardonnay with power, elegance, and distinctive salinity. The Ruppertsberger Achtmorgen, one of the great vineyards of the Mittelhaardt, is presented here in an interpretation with great freshness, subtle reduction, and a Burgundian stature.
On the nose, the wine is cool and precise, with yellow apple, white peach, and a hint of citrus zest, complemented by subtle roasted aromas from the barrique and a clear mineral undertone.
On the palate, the Chardonnay is dense and multifaceted, with great suppleness and a distinctive, almost saline minerality. The acidity gives the wine liveliness and precision, while the finish is long, structured, and characterized by cool tension.
The "Achtmorgen" vineyard on the Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad combines its south-eastern exposure with cool climatic influences and a layer of sandstone over calcareous marl in the subsoil—a soil combination that creates ideal conditions for a precise, saline-mineral Chardonnay. The yield was just 25 hl/ha.
After gentle pressing, the wine was spontaneously fermented with natural yeasts from the vineyard and aged on the lees in equal parts new and used barriques. This aging gives it additional depth, texture, and elegance.
A precise, mineral-driven Pfalz Chardonnay with a Burgundian stature, cool tension, and exceptional aging potential.
