The PRESENT Pinot Noir from solveigs comes from the single vineyard "Presenteberg" in the Rheingau, located between Assmannshausen and Lorch. The pure south-west-facing slope, with gradients of up to 70°, ensures long sun exposure, while the red phyllite slate stores heat and simultaneously allows for balanced water supply. This special terroir lends the Pinot Noir depth, structure, and a distinct mineral tension.
On the nose, the Pinot Noir is complex and precise, with aromas of red and dark berries, fine floral notes, and spicy-mineral undertones. On the palate, the wine appears powerful yet elegant, with juicy fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a cool, sustained minerality. The structure is dense but not heavy, with vibrant acidity and a long, nuanced finish that clearly reflects its origin.
The vinification follows an uncompromising minimal approach: spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, no fining, no additives except a very small amount of sulfite. The wine is aged for at least two years in barrels, followed by additional bottle aging. This principle of "controlled inaction" allows for slow development and ensures clarity, stability, and high aging potential. The wine is bottled unfiltered and fermented completely dry.
A profound, terroir-driven Pinot Noir from the Rheingau: precise, mineral, and structured, with great development potential.
