A Riesling that reflects the diversity and distinctiveness of the Mittelhaardt in concentrated form. The heart of this historic Riesling region lies between Bad Dürkheim and Neustadt and has been considered for centuries one of the most defining origins for mineral-driven, structured Rieslings. The grapes for this wine come from the three renowned villages of Forst, Deidesheim, and Ruppertsberg – communities known for their diverse soil formations and microclimates.
The wine displays a clear, precise Riesling aromatic profile with citrus fruit, green apple, white peach, and delicate herbal notes. A cool, stony minerality runs through the nose and palate, lending the wine tension and depth. The fruit is juicy but never opulent – always supported by freshness and structure.
On the palate, the Mittelhaardt Riesling presents itself as linear, lively, and mineral-driven, with animating acidity and a fine grip. The texture is slender, yet substantial, with a clear and dry finish and a salty aftertaste. A Riesling that ideally combines drinkability and an expression of its origin.
The diverse soil formations of the three villages – from colored sandstone to calcareous and loamy components, up to loess overlays – bring complexity and balance to the cuvée. The wine is spontaneously fermented, unfined, and bottled unfiltered to preserve the natural character of its origin authentically. The biodynamic cultivation according to Demeter guidelines underscores the purist approach.
A clear, authentic Mittelhaardt Riesling that convincingly unites regionality, craftsmanship, and biodynamic philosophy.
