The MICKE “Block 6” Pinot Noir from solveigs comes from a selected sub-parcel in Mickeberg in the Rheingau, characterized by red slate and strictly reduced yields. Within this site, individual blocks are vinified separately – Block 6 represents a particularly dense, concentrated interpretation of Pinot Noir that clearly reflects the microclimate and parcel structure.
On the nose, the wine initially appears rather reserved and, with aeration, develops a complex aroma of dark berries, herbs, and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the MICKE "Block 6" is powerful and compact, with a dense, almost creamy texture and at the same time precise, well-integrated acidity. The structure is concentrated and deep, without appearing heavy – a Pinot Noir with substance, tension, and inner calm.
Compared to other parcels like Block 25, Block 6 is usually somewhat more reserved and structure-driven, with a stronger focus on density, extract, and mineral depth, while other blocks may show more openness or fruitiness. These very differences make the parcel bottlings particularly exciting and underline the winery's terroir-driven approach.
Vinification follows the principle of minimal intervention: spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, no fining agents or enzymes, bottled unfiltered. Maturation takes place over a long period in barrels, as well as additional bottle aging. This slow development precisely expresses the depth and complexity of the single vineyard.
A dense, structured Pinot Noir from the Rheingau: concentrated, mineral, and with great depth – for Pinot connoisseurs who want to discover the differences between individual parcels.
