A powerful, deeply mineral Riesling from one of Franconia's great shell limestone sites. The over 40-year-old vines in Maustal produce a wine that impressively combines structure, ripeness, and origin.
On the nose, the Riesling appears ripe and concentrated, with aromas of apricot, vineyard peach, and yellow fruit, accompanied by fine herbaceous nuances and a cool, chalky impression. The aromatics are dense but clearly defined.
On the palate, the wine presents itself as powerful, dense, and precisely structured. The fruit is present but never opulent, supported by fine spice and a pronounced mineral depth. The acidity is ripe and well integrated, the finish long, salty, and persistent.
The vines are rooted in shell limestone, which gives the wine its tension, clarity, and characteristic grip. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in traditional Halbstückfass barrels provide texture and complexity without obscuring its origin. Organically farmed and artisanally vinified.
A structured, mineral-driven Riesling with great aging potential, convincingly showcasing the class of the Grand Cru Maustal site.
