Linseed Chardonnay Landwein - Weingut Seckinger - Organic

The "Linse" Chardonnay is Seckinger's deliberately unconventional approach to the grape variety – spontaneous, free, minimalistic. Bottled unfiltered and declared as a regional wine, it displays a wild openness rarely found in the Palatinate. The nose presents yellow fruit, ripe pear, subtle citrus notes, accompanied by nutty, yeasty, and slightly oxidative nuances. This aromatic profile is typical of Seckinger's nature-oriented Chardonnay line and clearly reflects the winery's signature style.
On the palate, the Linse is juicy, grippy, and invigorating, with a lively, clear acidity. A fine reduction, along with salty minerality and a slightly wild herbal spice, form a tension-filled, individually shaped character. The restrained woody spice from aging in used wooden barrels remains subtly in the background, providing depth without dominance.
The wine was spontaneously fermented and then aged in used wooden barrels. Due to the unfiltered bottling, it retains its natural turbidity, texture, and complexity. It is precisely this deliberately reduced, low-intervention approach that gives the Linse its special expression – uncompromisingly puristic.
The Linse is a Chardonnay with edges and corners, deliberately outside of classic styles. It combines freshness, slight oxidative notes, salty tension, and grippy phenolics to create a wine that aims not to smooth but to excite. A Seckinger Chardonnay for all who appreciate character, natural wine nuances, and individuality.
