A profound, structured Riesling from one of the most impressive sites in the Mittelhaardt. The Gimmeldingen Biengarten stretches like an amphitheater along the slope between Gimmeldingen and Königsbach. Sandstone walls and terraces create a special microclimate that stores warmth while preserving freshness. The extraordinary potential of this site was recognized early on – already in the 19th century, it was considered one of the highest-rated vineyards in the region.

The wine displays ripe, clearly defined Riesling fruit with notes of peach, apricot, and ripe citrus. This is complemented by a piquant freshness, fine herbal spice, and a distinct, limestone-influenced minerality. The aroma is dense and precise and gains significantly in depth with increasing maturity.

On the palate, the Biengarten Riesling presents itself as powerful, silky, and full of tension. The lively acidity provides firmness and freshness, while the chalky structure gives the wine backbone and length. The texture is fine and dense at the same time, the finish long, mineral, and persistent. A Riesling whose full potential unfolds particularly with some bottle age.

The soils consist of variegated sandstone with a high proportion of Tertiary limestone, which gives the wine its distinctive spiciness and mineral depth. The terraced hillside protects against cold spells and promotes even ripening of the grapes. The name "Biengarten" (bee garden) refers to the former use of this warm, sheltered site by beekeepers – an indication of the special climate of this place.

The grapes are harvested by hand in several selective passes, sorted again at the winery, and gently pressed. After natural sedimentation, spontaneous fermentation occurs with vineyard-specific yeasts. Maturation takes place partly in traditional wooden barrels made of Palatinate oak and partly in stainless steel tanks. A long period of aging on the lees and a minimal, late sulfuration complete the maturation process and give the wine density, texture, and great aging potential.

A powerful, limestone-influenced Riesling with a silky structure that convincingly combines origin, craftsmanship, and longevity.
