Deidesheim Leinhöhle Riesling Erste Lage - Weingut Andres - Organic

A precise, finely textured Palatine Riesling with great minerality and playful tension. The Deidesheim Leinhöhle, one of the Mittelhaardt’s excellent Erste Lagen vineyards, is presented here in an interpretation that elegantly combines power and finesse.

The nose is cool and precise, with yellow peach, citrus zest and fresh herbs, complemented by delicate floral notes and a hint of flint.

On the palate, the riesling white wine is focused and full-bodied, with vibrant, precise acidity and a distinctive mineral structure. The fruit remains clear and straightforward, while the finish is long, powerful and mineral-driven.

The south- and east-facing vines are rooted in weathered Triassic sandstone with marl pockets, a soil combination that brings power and finesse into ideal balance. The special microclimate allows the grapes to ripen exceptionally slowly without losing freshness or acidity.

After gentle pressing, the wine was spontaneously fermented with natural vineyard yeasts and aged 100% on the lees in large oak barrels. The yield was just 30 hl/ha.

A precise, mineral-driven Palatine Riesling with fine texture, great length and considerable ageing potential.
