The MICKE Pinot Noir from solveigs comes from a single plot in the Rheingau, the so-called "Mickeberg", where red slate and a sheltered exposure create optimal conditions for the ripening of the grapes. The vines are over 25 years old, and yields are significantly reduced – prerequisites for a concentrated, terroir-driven Pinot Noir with clear origin and depth.
On the nose, the wine is complex and inviting, with aromas of raspberry, cherry, and dark forest berries, accompanied by spicy and slightly smoky notes, as well as subtle nutty and chocolatey nuances. On the palate, the MICKE is dense and at the same time smooth, with a very fine, barely perceptible tannin structure and a juicy, balanced texture. The style is powerful, but never heavy – supported by mineral tension and an elegant, long development on the finish.
The vinification consistently follows the principle of minimal intervention: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, no fining agents or enzymes, bottled unfiltered. Aging takes place for approximately 28 months in barrels, plus additional bottle aging. This slow development gives the wine its depth, stability, and characteristic aromatic complexity.
MICKE is a Pinot Noir of exceptional character: dense, finely structured and at the same time surprisingly accessible, with exotic fruit, subtle spice, and a Burgundian feel – a versatile food companion. For discerning Pinot lovers.
