This Ortswein wine from Königsbach reflects the typical conditions of the northern Mittelhaardt. The vineyards are located at the transition between the Haardt and the Rhine plain and are characterized by loess, marl, and well-aerated soils that store warmth while maintaining freshness. The winery's village wines consciously represent the character of the respective community – they combine several parcels and thus show a clear, unadulterated image of their origin.
On the nose, the Riesling is clear and delicately fruity, with notes of citrus, green apple, and stone fruit, accompanied by subtle herbal spice. On the palate, it is juicy and precise, with vibrant acidity and a cool, mineral structure. The fruit remains elegant and straightforward, while a fine spice and chalky nuances provide depth and an animating drinkability.
The grapes are selectively hand-picked and gently processed. Fermentation is predominantly spontaneous to authentically reflect the origin. Aging in stainless steel – partly complemented by wood – ensures clarity, freshness, and structure. The result is a Riesling that combines accessibility with complexity and brings much joy even when young, but also possesses aging potential.
A classic Palatinate Ortswein: precise, juicy, and mineral, with clear fruit and high drinkability, a versatile Riesling.
