This prestige sparkling wine from the Palatinate is produced at the VDP.Weingut Kranz in Ilbesheim on the Southern Wine Route. The cuvée is based on Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, which are pressed white as Blanc de Noirs. Both Burgundy varieties benefit in the region from limestone and loess-dominated soils, which give the base wines structure, freshness and a precise minerality.
In the glass, the sparkling wine is clear, finely carbonated and very elegant. On the nose, yellow stone fruit, ripe apple and delicate yeast notes combine, accompanied by a hint of brioche. On the palate, the Blanc de Noirs is dry, juicy and full of finesse, with lively acidity, a delicate creaminess and a precise, mineral structure that leads into a long, bone-dry finish.
The sparkling wine is produced entirely in the winery according to the Méthode Traditionnelle. After the second fermentation in the bottle, the sparkling wine matures on the lees for around 36 months, is then hand-riddled and disgorged without dosage as Brut Nature. This long yeast aging gives it its creamy texture, fine perlage and additional depth.
A precise, Burgundian-influenced prestige sparkling wine that combines power, elegance and mineral freshness – clear, dry and with great finesse.
