In Niederkirchen near Deidesheim, Philipp, Jonas and Lukas Seckinger started something in 2012 that has caught the attention of the German wine scene. Three brothers, one hectare of vines, an old potato cellar — and an uncompromising idea of how Pfalz wine can taste today. Today they farm over 20 hectares in some of the finest vineyards of the Mittelhaardt and the southern Pfalz, biodynamically certified, with minimal intervention in the cellar.
Riesling from historic terraced sites, Chardonnay and Spätburgunder from the limestone of Maikammer, traditionally bottle-fermented sparkling wines/Sekte — all with an independence that has become rare.
