This Riesling VDP.SEKT extra brut from Weingut Böhme & Töchter originates from the Saale-Unstrut wine region, Germany's northernmost growing area with a cool continental climate. The grapes grow on soils characterized by limestone and shell limestone, which lend the Riesling sparkling wines a clear minerality and structural freshness. As a VDP.SEKT, this sparkling wine stands for the highest quality standards: traditional bottle fermentation, selected grapes, and an aging process that reflects the region's terroir.
In the glass, it presents itself with fine bubbles, a lively, creamy mousse, and a fresh, precise acidity. The bouquet is characterized by ripe yellow fruit, complemented by an elegant play of tropical fruit aromas and a subtle yeasty note from the long aging. On the palate, the sparkling wine is dry, clearly structured, and salty-mineral, with freshness and tension.
The second fermentation takes place classically in the bottle using the traditional method with extended aging on the lees before the sparkling wine is disgorged. With a residual sugar of about 1.8 g/l, a lively acidity, and an alcohol content of approx. 12.5% vol, this sparkling wine presents itself as exceptionally precise, elegant, and mineral. The texture, aged on the fine lees, gives it depth, fine creaminess, and a lasting finish.
An expressive, terroir-driven Riesling sparkling wine that captivates with its balance of freshness, minerality, and fine fruit – perfect as an aperitif or with light dishes with a salty component.
