A powerful Riesling from one of the most traditional sites in the Palatinate/Pfalz. The Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad has been mentioned as a vineyard since the 15th century and is one of the earliest recognized top sites in the Mittelhaardt. Its special exposure and soil structure make it the warmest vineyard in the Caveau Garage portfolio – a site that produces wines with depth, energy, and distinctive character.
The Reiterpfad Riesling exhibits a smoky, spicy aroma, accompanied by ripe citrus fruit, yellow stone fruit, and a cool herbaceous note. The nose appears dense, serious, and full of tension – characterful, independent, and with a clear stance – a wine with profile.
On the palate, the wine presents itself as powerful, structured, and mineral-driven. The acidity is present and supportive, the texture dense and grippy. A smoky, stony core extends into the long finish, giving the wine depth and tension. The Reiterpfad demands attention – and rewards it.
The site is characterized by sandy to stony weathered soil with heat-retaining properties. The high sun exposure ensures fully ripe grapes, while the soil structure preserves freshness and mineral tension in the wines. This combination makes the Reiterpfad one of the most distinctive Riesling sites in the region.
The grapes are selectively hand-picked and spontaneously fermented. The aging process is uncompromisingly puristic: unfined and unfiltered, without technical interventions. The goal is an unadulterated expression of site, vintage, and signature style.
A powerful, smoky-mineral Riesling that shows its origin and deliberately remains edgy – demanding, individual, and strong in character.
