Friedstein Radebeul Riesling GG - VDP.Winery Martin Schwarz
Sufficient stock! Ready to ship!
An uncompromising Riesling from one of Saxony's most distinctive vineyards. The Friedstein is steep, stony, and characterized by barren granite weathered soil – a terroir that can only be cultivated with great effort, but which produces wines of exceptional precision, tension, and depth.
On the nose, the wine appears cool, reduced, and focused. Fresh citrus fruit, green apple, and a distinct stony minerality meet delicate herbal spice. The aroma is restrained and clear, gaining depth and expression with aeration, without ever becoming loud.
On the palate, the Friedstein is taut, precise, and crystal clear. A vibrant acidity and striking, salty minerality provide tension and length. The texture is finely structured, supported by inner calm and a firm structure that gives the wine great sustainability and aging potential. The finish is long, cool, and mineral-focused.
The Friedstein is one of the most striking steep slopes on the Saxon Elbe. The granitic weathered soils are nutrient-poor and promote low yields as well as highly concentrated grapes. The extreme slope enhances the mineral character and ensures Rieslings with a clear origin signature.
The grapes were processed with an eight-hour maceration period to carefully deepen structure and expression. Subsequently, the wine matured for ten months on the fine lees, which gives it additional density, balance, and inner calm without compromising its precision.
A cool, precise, and deeply mineral Riesling that uncompromisingly reflects its origin – built for long aging and great development.
