Forster Musenhang Riesling trocken Erste Lage - Weingut Mehling - Organic

A precise, mineral Riesling with lively freshness and elegant spice. On the palate, it combines dense fruit with clear structure, fine pressure, and a subtle, peppery note. Exotic hints, ripe citrus fruit, and a cool, herbal minerality give it depth and length – a characterful Riesling with finely balanced tension.

The wine was gently aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve the natural freshness and clarity of the vintage. Spontaneous fermentation and long aging on fine lees give it a creamy texture and additional complexity, without masking the precise acid structure.

The grapes come from the Erste Lage Forster Musenhang in the Palatinate (Pfalz), directly below the former volcano Pechsteinkopf. The vineyard borders the Palatinate Forest, which protects it from wind and allows for a consistent water supply. The soils of limestone and clay with inclusions of basalt rock imbue the wine with minerality and fine spice – a classic expression of the Forster terroir.
