A distinctive Riesling that unites the essence of Enkirch's famous steep slopes. The Escheburg comes from over 60-year-old, partly ungrafted vines rooted in several top parcels of the winery – especially in Steffensberg, Ellergrub, Batterieberg, and Zeppwingert. These old vines yield small-berried, highly concentrated grapes, from which a wine is produced that perfectly combines power, freshness, and mineral depth.

The Escheburg opens with precise, cool Riesling fruit: citrus, green apple, white peaches, and fine herbs, accompanied by a smoky slate spice. The aroma is clear, focused, and at the same time complex – a typical expression of old vines that bring complexity and inner calm.

On the palate, the wine shows pressure, tension, and a taut, mineral core. The acidity is lively but harmonious and carries the clear fruit across the entire palate. The slate minerality is clearly perceptible and gives the wine a salty grip and great length. The texture is concentrated, without being heavy – a village wine with impressive depth and almost single-vineyard character.

The Escheburg draws its power from four of Enkirch's most significant steep slopes. The soils of gray and blue Devonian slate, partly with quartzite veins, shape the wines with cool energy and striking minerality. The steep slopes allow for perfect sun exposure and excellent drainage, enabling the old vines to root deeply and deliver concentrated, aromatic grapes year after year.

The grapes are selectively hand-picked, then spontaneously fermented and aged with minimal intervention – entirely in the puristic style of Immich-Batterieberg. Extended lees aging provides finesse, texture, and additional complexity, while the wine retains its clear, stony tension.

A powerful, puristic, and mineral Riesling that impressively brings together the potential of old Enkirch vines – a village wine with exceptional depth and true origin.
