Deidesheimer Kieselberg Wurzelecht Grosse Lage - Weingut Seckinger - Organic
Hurry up! Only 3 in stock!
The Kieselberg is one of the most distinctive sites around Deidesheim. Characterized by calcareous loess, red sandstone and siliceous inclusions, Rieslings with a clear structure and striking minerality are produced here. The ungrafted vines – i.e. not grafted onto rootstocks – produce particularly unadulterated, profound wines. In combination with the exposed location and the influence of cool air currents from the Palatinate Forest, a Riesling of exceptional precision and authenticity is created.
On the nose, the wine is cool, clear and complex with notes of citrus, lime and grapefruit, accompanied by fine herbs, smoke and stony minerality. On the palate, it is taut, dense and vibrant, with a salty grip, precise acidity and an almost electric tension. The texture is grippy, the fruit reduced and focused – everything aims for length and clarity.
The vinification follows the purist signature of the winery: manual harvest, spontaneous fermentation and long aging in wood, without excessive intervention. The goal is the most unadulterated expression of the site and vintage possible. The ungrafted vines additionally enhance the depth and complexity of the wine.
An uncompromising, mineral-driven top Riesling, defined less by fruit than by structure, tension and origin – with great aging potential and an individual character.
