The Zscheiplitzer Himmelreich Weissburgunder 1G originates from the VDP.ERSTEN LAGE® Zscheiplitzer Himmelreich in the Saale-Unstrut region, a steep slope with chalk and shell limestone-influenced soils and a moderate south-facing exposure. These historic vineyards offer a cool, continentally influenced climate and deep chalk-weathered soils that produce particularly mineral, clear Burgundy wines. The grapes for this wine were selectively hand-picked, with a focus on optimal physiological ripeness and fruit concentration.
On the nose, the Weissburgunder displays finely nuanced, ripe yellow fruit with subtle spicy and herbaceous notes, suggesting a complex aroma profile. On the palate, a dense, core structure combines with vibrant acidity, saline minerality, and elegant phenolics, lending the wine depth and tension. The fruit appears well-supported and harmoniously integrated into a mineral-driven textural fabric.
This VDP.Erstes.Gewächs Weissburgunder is characterized by a powerful body and a distinctive structure: it is traditionally fermented dry and precisely to clearly highlight its origin and varietal character. The low residual sweetness and stable acidity give the wine freshness and a long finish, while the mineral salinity of the terroir clearly defines the aftertaste.
An elegant, terroir-driven Weissburgunder with a clear style, lively acidity, and distinct mineral character – precise, powerful, and with great aging potential.
