A Chardonnay with aromas of ripe apple fruit, subtle citrus notes, and an elegant, mineral tension define the first impression. On the palate, it is substantial, precisely structured, and supported by a fine, well-integrated acidity – a characterful, clear Franconian wine with a sense of origin.
The wine is spontaneously fermented and traditionally aged in large oak barrels, which gives it depth and subtle woody spice without masking its freshness. The natural, restrained fruit remains in the foreground, supported by chalky salinity and a straightforward, persistent finish.
The Sulzfelder Sonnenberg is one of Franconia's classic limestone-rich sites: upper Muschelkalk, stony, well-drained soils, and a sunny hillside exposure. These conditions promote mineral tension, clear acidity, and finely defined fruit – typical of Zehnthof Luckert's wines and exemplary for the terroir.
