Riesling Deidesheim in der oberen Petershöhle Riesling Brut Nature - Weingut Seckinger
Sufficient stock! Ready to ship!
The grapes for this Riesling sparkling wine come from the Deidesheim Obere Petershöhle, a high-altitude, cool site on the edge of the Palatinate Forest. The exposed position and the mineral-rich soils provide freshness, tension, and a clear, precise style – ideal conditions for a long-lived, terroir-driven sparkling wine. The grapes were harvested in 2016, selectively by hand, and with a focus on maximum finesse.
In the glass, the Brut Nature is refreshing and precise, with fine, lively perlage. On the nose, brioche notes from the long yeast aging combine with fresh herbs, crisp apple, and a subtly tart grapefruit impression. On the palate, the sparkling wine is dry, clear, and vibrant, supported by fresh acidity, fine creaminess, and a mineral finish.
After manual harvesting, the grapes were carefully destemmed and gently pressed. The base wine matured in oak barrels until 2019 before being bottled for traditional bottle fermentation. Subsequently, the sparkling wine spent an impressive 72 months on the lees. Disgorgement took place in March 2025 – without dosage, uncompromisingly as Brut Nature.
An expressive, profound Riesling sparkling wine with clarity, length, and great maturity – precise, mineral, and consistently built on origin and time.
