An elegant, exciting Blaufränkisch with clear fruit, fine spice, and a distinct expression of its origin. The vines grow in a historic single vineyard in Radebeul, on the site where the GDR's vine experimental station once stood. Today, characteristic wines are produced here, combining precision, freshness, and regional identity.
On the nose, the wine is cool and clear with aromas of dark cherry, wild berries, and fine herbal spice, complemented by a hint of graphite. The fruit appears juicy and precise, the spice restrained and elegant.
On the palate, the Blaufränkisch presents itself as precise, juicy, and balanced. Fine-grained tannins provide structure, while vibrant acidity creates freshness and tension. The finish is long, spicy, and clearly defined, with good balance between fruit, spice, and texture.
The loess and loam soils of the site ensure juicy fruit and an elegant tannin structure. The moderate climate of the Elbe valley slopes supports slow ripening and preserves freshness and aromatic clarity.
The wine was aged for 14 months in used 500-liter wooden barrels, allowing depth and texture to develop without the wood dominating the wine. The result is a Blaufränkisch with clarity, elegance, and substance.
A characterful, precisely crafted Blaufränkisch that combines Saxon winemaking history with a contemporary style.
