The MICKE "Block 25" Pinot Noir from solveigs comes from a selected sub-parcel on the Mickeberg in the Rheingau, characterized by red slate and steep slopes. Within this single vineyard, the individual blocks are vinified separately – Block 25 represents a more open, accessible interpretation of Pinot Noir, particularly highlighting fruit, juiciness, and tension.
On the nose, the wine presents itself immediately and complex, with aromas of dark berries, elderberry, and blackberry, accompanied by fine spicy and slightly menthol notes. On the palate, the MICKE "Block 25" starts smoothly and then develops enormous dynamism: juicy, powerful, and yet precise, with fine-grained tannins, integrated acidity, and a distinctly perceptible mineral structure. The style appears more open and accessible than Block 6, with more fruit flow and immediate presence.
In direct comparison, Block 25 shows more juiciness, drive, and aromatic openness, while Block 6 is more characterized by density, structure, and inner tension. Both parcels reflect the same terroir – but interpret it differently: Block 25 more expressive and accessible, Block 6 more concentrated and compact.
The vinification follows solveigs' uncompromising approach: spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, no fining agents or enzymes, bottled unfiltered. Maturation takes place over a long period in barrels, as well as additional bottle aging, allowing structure, depth, and minerality to develop precisely.
An expressive, terroir-driven Pinot Noir from the Rheingau: juicy, mineral, and with impressive tension – for Pinot connoisseurs who appreciate finesse and dynamism.
