Maikammer Kapellenberg Chardonnay Grosse Lage - Weingut Seckinger - Organic

A powerful and precise Chardonnay that impressively demonstrates the potential of the lime-rich Maikammer Kapellenberg vineyard. The nose combines fine yellow fruit, ripe citrus nuances, mirabelle plum, and pear with a typical, slightly reductive flint note and subtle toasted aromas. On the palate, the wine is salty-mineral, dense and clearly structured, with a smooth mellowness and a long, complex finish.
The Kapellenberg is one of the most distinctive Chardonnay sites in the Mittelhaardt region. The soils consist of a calcareous subsoil, interspersed with loam, sand, and clay components, which gives the wine its precise minerality, salty depth, and elegant tension. The interplay of calcareous soil and the warm-cool Palatinate microclimate enables Chardonnays with power, balance, and pronounced origin.
The grapes are selectively hand-picked, spontaneously fermented, and then aged in wood. The proportion of barrique barrels gives the wine structure and subtle spice, without overwhelming the clear, limestone-influenced style. This sensitive aging preserves the balance between fruit, minerality, and oak influence.
An elegant, terroir-driven Chardonnay with depth, precision, and aging potential – a characterful representative of its site.
