Haardter Herzog Chardonnay - Grosse Lage - Weingut Andres - Organic
Sufficient stock! Ready to ship!
The nose reveals notes of yellow apple, pear, citrus, and ripe stone fruit, accompanied by subtle brioche and flint accents, as well as a restrained herbal spice. On the palate, it is taut, mineral, and at the same time elegant, supported by clear acidity and a fine, chalky-salty core. A precise Chardonnay with great freshness, fine reduction, and pronounced salinity.
After spontaneous fermentation, the wine matured in 50% new and 50% used barriques, which gives it structure, depth, and a subtle woody spice without overshadowing its cool, precise style.
The grapes come from the Grand Cru vineyard Haardter Herzog on the edge of the Palatinate Forest. The combination of a cool microclimate and lime-marl-rich soils allows for Chardonnays with high precision, tension, and clear origin. The low yields of 25 hl/ha promote concentration and aromatic depth.
A mineral, powerful yet delicate Chardonnay that clearly shows the strengths of this outstanding Deidesheim site.
