A Riesling full of energy, precision and mineral pressure. The Detonation comes from over 70-year-old, partly ungrafted vines rooted in extremely steep terraced vineyards - a true expression of the historic slate vineyards around Enkirch. These old vines yield small, highly concentrated grapes with intense aromatics and pronounced minerality.

On the nose, the Detonation shows taut, clear fruit: ripe apple, citrus, lime, yellow peach and a hint of pineapple, accompanied by fine herbal spice and cool slate minerality. The aromatics are puristic and exciting, carried by the complexity of old vines.

On the palate, the wine is taut, lively and straightforward, with vibrant acidity, crystalline minerality and the typical salty grip of the Mosel slate steep slopes. It possesses enormous inner tension, yet remains juicy, precise and focused. The finish is long, stony and energetic - a characterful Riesling that makes the terroir immediately palpable.

The grapes come from steep, barren sites with blue and grey Devonian slate, typical of Immich-Batterieberg. The stony, heat-retaining terroir provides powerful, mineral-driven Rieslings with great clarity and depth. Many of the vines are over 70 years old, some even ungrafted, which gives the wine additional complexity and an unmistakable character.

After selective hand-picking, the wine is spontaneously fermented and then aged in stainless steel tanks. Maturation takes place on the lees, with minimal sulfur addition and without unnecessary intervention. This reductive, precise vinification underscores the clear, forceful style of Immich-Batterieberg.

A juicy, exciting and uncompromisingly mineral Riesling that impressively shows how much energy old slate sites of the Mosel can release.
