Deidesheimer Petershöhle Riesling Grosse Lage - Weingut Seckinger - Organic

The Deidesheimer Petershöhle is one of the high-altitude, cool Riesling parcels on the edge of the Palatinate Forest. The site is characterized by barren red sandstone and sandy-stony terraced soils, which give the wine a very clear, taut style. Due to its proximity to the forest and its high altitude, the ripeness remains aromatic for a long time without becoming opulent – perfect for Riesling with tension.
On the nose, the wine appears precise and cool, with citrus, yellow stone fruit and a stony, almost "salty" minerality. Fine herbal nuances and a subtle, elegant reduction are also present. On the palate, it is juicy, focused and straightforward, with lively acidity, chalky-stony grip and a long, very clear finish.
As is typical for Seckinger, the Riesling is selectively harvested, spontaneously fermented and aged with great care to reflect its origin as authentically as possible. The aging in wood adds additional structure and depth without overshadowing the cool, mineral signature.
A Grosses Lage Riesling with cool elegance, which is less about volume and more about precision, salinity and length – with very good aging potential.
