Bönnigheimer Schupen Pinot Noir GG - VDP.Weingut Dautel
Sufficient stock! Ready to ship!
A powerful yet finely balanced pinot noir from a VDP.Grosse Lage, combining depth, structure, and elegance. In the glass, it presents a dense, brilliant ruby red with high concentration.
On the nose, the wine is spicy and multi-layered, with aromas of dark berries, sour cherry, subtle earthy nuances, and hints of almond and mature wood. The aromatics are intense yet remain precise and clear.
On the palate, the Pinot Noir begins with power and richness, featuring juicy cherry fruit and spicy herbal notes. The structure is firm and finely delineated, supported by ripe, precise tannins. The long finish reveals distinctive, minerally underpinned aromas that lend the wine depth and persistence.
The vines grow on gypsum keuper soil, which imparts power, spice, and structure to the wine. After cold maceration and long mash fermentation, the wine first matured for 12 months in new and used 300-liter tonneaux, followed by another 10 months in large wooden barrels. After unfiltered bottling, a 14-month bottle maturation followed, contributing to the harmonious integration of all components.
A red wine with depth, tension, and aging potential, impressively reflecting the class of the Schupen site.
