This VDP.Prestige.Sekt is produced at the VDP.Weingut Kranz in Ilbesheim on the Southern Wine Route in the Palatinate (Pfalz). The grapes grow on limestone-rich soils, which are typical for the region and give the base wine freshness, minerality, and a precise structure. As a VDP.Sekt.Prestige, it is subject to particularly strict quality rules: origin from its own vineyards, traditional bottle fermentation, and long aging on the lees.
On the nose, the Sekt is fine and elegant with notes of quince, pear, and light stone fruit, accompanied by subtle yeast aromas. On the palate, it is precise, dry, and very focused, with a creamy-fine perlage and vibrant acidity. Subtle brioche and apple notes combine with a mineral spice, leading to a long, clean finish.
The sparkling wine production is carried out entirely at the winery according to the Méthode Traditionnelle. After the second fermentation, the Sekt matures for at least 36 months on the lees and is then hand-riddled and disgorged before being bottled as Brut Nature without dosage. This long aging on the lees gives it structure, depth, and a particularly fine mousse.
A precise, terroir-driven Prestige Sekt with great elegance: mineral, complex, and dry – an expressive representative of modern German sparkling wine culture.
