Niedernberg Chardonnay 1G - VDP.Weingut Dautel
Sufficient stock! Ready to ship!
A characterful chardonnay with a smoky, slightly reductive nose, nutty notes, delicate herbal spice and clear mineral imprint. Almonds, yeast, butter and a hint of honey complement the complex aroma. On the palate, it shows full-bodied creaminess, dense structure and precise, well-integrated acidity. Chalky salinity, fine phenolics and nuances of butter caramel, zest bitterness and subtle smoke run through the long, elegant finish.
The vines grow in the terraced steep slope of Besigheimer Niedernberg, deeply rooted in shell limestone and marl soils, which provide tension, salinity and length. The wine is hand-picked, spontaneously fermented and aged in small oak barrels – a style that has shaped Dautel since the 1980s and combines Burgundy tradition with Württemberg terroir.
A complex, long-lived chardonnay with great depth, structure and clearly recognisable regional character.
